Frequently asked questions and answers;
About my bike trip
In what way your bike trip was different than other?
It was a non-prepared, disorganized bike trip, at the worst time of the year for a uninitiated rookie cyclist...October! Especially in a hilly country like Switzerland. I had no knowledge and was starting from scratch! I had to deal with the unexpected and my lack of experience. My goal was also different than most fellow cyclists I met along the way; it was to find a cure to a better lifestyle and viable alternatives to detoxify my mind, body and soul from years wasted in front of a screen.
“Looking back at those years, I realize it was a radical choice but the ultimate solution to adopt for me”
Where have you been and how did you manage your needs on the road?
Despite the number of countries I had visited during my bike trip (13 worldwide), my focus was not based on the distance I would cover in a specific time frame. It was an unconscious way to find a cure. It was an impulsive form of detox from my old habits. An intuitive journey without plans or goals.
It was more an in-depth, moment to moment process, guiding me to naturally unfold a crucial knowledge of myself through experiencing different venues, different people and lifestyles and unveiling, along the way, a better way for me to live.
Why do you emphasize the bicycle as a vehicle of change?
Bicycling literally saved my life. It became my true companion during those years on the road.
I believe that the bicycle has the power to reconnect people with themselves. I agree with the statement from Einstein; "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving."
With zero fuel and noise emissions, stress-free, versatile and such a complete self-sufficient mode of transportation, I see the bicycle as a natural healer and yet the best mechanical human-friendly invention that has ever been designed.
It is the ultimate solution to most of the problems our planet is facing nowadays. It is a vehicle of change and an inner and outer sustainable-living alternative to keep our mind, body and soul intact and healthy.
“Yes, I believe the bicycle to be the future of tourism, well-being and personal growth”
About my work
What are the source of your inspiration?
Because of my early freelance status, I have been able to learn many various skills in my life. My curiosity and my passion to help others had had given me the privilege to learn from many specialist in the field of well-being and holistic science. Those skills remain my most precious tool to exercise my work as an experiential facilitator.
I therefore consider myself a container of unique human experience.
My most precious knowledge comes from my spiritual teachers, the First Nations people. They are amongst the most powerful people I have met in my life. They ignited my spiritual journey and provided the fuel to give meaning to it.
How can others benefit from such a new vision of bicycle?
No need to reinvent the wheel!
Because my objective is to extend my vision of bicycling as a tool for personal growth and self-improvement., I am able to transform what might be a recreational or educational bike ride into something completely different. As an “experiential” tour architect, I can use my own life testimonial to manifest this requirement.
What do you mean by experiential bike trip?
For me, and based on my heritage from various cultures around the world, experiential means engagement. It is a learning process involving the observer with a direct experience. It is a practical and natural process that involves a “live it instead of looking at it or talking about it”participation.. With bicycle as a vehicle of change it is now fun, educative and rewarding!
What is your involvement and expectation with the bike tourism industry?
As a bike advocate and an experiential facilitator, I am actively looking for people and groups who share the same interests and who possess an existing structure that my work could plug into and become available to the public.
I have been giving talks for the last two years on the bicycle and its relevance to the state of man in the world today. I am currently working with different groups to better adapt my ideology of bicycle with other existing projects that share my goals.
I will be attending all relevant conventions and activities that nurture this idea and bring it to fruition.
